The history has been made in Eden Gardens on Friday. Punjab Kings successfully chased down the 262-run target with eight balls and as many wickets to spare against the former champions Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024. Prabhsimran Singh set the tone of the chase but unfortunately lost his wicket in a freak run-out. Jonny Bairstow took the responsibility and slammed a 45-ball ton but it was Shashank Singh's power-hitting which helped Punjab Kings won the match comfortably. He smashed eight sixes and two fours in his unbeaten 68-run knock in just 28 balls. Earlier, Sunil Narine and Phil Salt both made 70-odd runs which helped KKR put 261 runs on the board.
