As India and the United States intensify trade negotiations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a strategic conversation with Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, reaffirming India’s commitment to strengthening ties in technology and innovation.
"Spoke to Elon Musk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year. We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation," PM Modi said in a post on X. The conversation follows their in-person meeting in Washington earlier this year.
The timing of this dialogue is notable, as Tesla is reportedly preparing to enter the Indian market. It also aligns with ongoing discussions for a bilateral trade agreement between India and the US.
In parallel, Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal met with a Starlink delegation in Delhi, including Vice President Chad Gibbs and Senior Director Ryan Goodnight. The talks focused on Starlink’s technology, existing collaborations, and future investment plans in India.
These high-level interactions signal growing synergy between India and Elon Musk’s ventures, reinforcing the broader ambition to advance strategic cooperation in innovation and next-generation technologies.
