The Centre has said that India's been able to ensure that only 1.8% of the total population was infected with COVID-19. In comparison, 10.1% population was infected in the US, 7.3% in Brazil, 9% in France, 3.4% in Russia and 7.4% in Italy, Healthy Ministry's Lav Agarwal said.
However, he added that 98% of India's population remains vulnerable to COVID-19.

The Central Government said that a continued decline has been noted in the active Covid-19 cases in the last 15 days.There has been a decrease of 27% from the highest peak of single-day cases India noted on 7 May (4,14,000), Agarwal said.
He further said, eight states have over 1 lakh active cases and 22 states have more than 15% case positivity, it said. Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, MP, and Chhattisgarh have shown a decline in coronavirus cases and a decline in positivity, the Centre said.
