Fal.ai, a fast-growing multimodal AI infrastructure startup, has reportedly raised $250 million, pushing its valuation to over $4 billion, according to multiple sources. The new round, led by Kleiner Perkins and Sequoia Capital, comes just three months after Fal’s $125 million Series C at a $1.5 billion valuation led by Meritech.
Founded in 2021 by Burkay Gur and Gorkem Yurtseven, Fal.ai provides the infrastructure layer for image, video, audio, and 3D AI models, serving more than 2 million developers worldwide. The company’s annual recurring revenue has surged past $95 million, up from $10 million a year earlier.
Fal’s cloud hosts over 600 AI models and thousands of Nvidia H100 and H200 GPUs, optimized for fast inference and customization. Developers and enterprises—including Adobe, Canva, Shopify, and Perplexity—use its APIs and serverless compute clusters for media generation in advertising, gaming, and e-commerce.
As multimodal AI demand skyrockets, fueled by tools like OpenAI’s Sora, Fal’s media-centric focus has become its defining edge against giants like Microsoft, Google, and CoreWeave. With this latest funding, Fal.ai strengthens its position as a core enabler of the multimodal AI revolution, bridging creativity and computation at scale.
