Musk Shares AI Optimus Video After Proof Challenge

Elon Musk has shared an AI-generated video of Tesla’s humanoid robot, Optimus, performing an array of advanced tasks—ranging from cooking and cleaning to martial arts—just days after analyst Gary Black challenged Tesla to show real, economically meaningful progress on the project.

The video, produced using generative AI, illustrates a futuristic vision of what Optimus might achieve one day rather than reflecting its current functional abilities. In the clip, the robot is depicted as a chef, household assistant, delivery worker, and even a karate practitioner—far exceeding anything Tesla has demonstrated publicly to date.

Gary Black, a prominent Tesla supporter, had called on the company to provide verifiable proof that Optimus can perform real-world tasks at scale, especially as Tesla continues to position the robot as a transformative commercial opportunity worth trillions. Musk’s AI video appears to serve more as a creative teaser than the concrete evidence the investment community has been seeking.

Tesla has previously released actual footage of Optimus walking, sorting objects, and performing controlled movements, but critics argue that meaningful productivity demonstrations are still lacking.

Musk’s latest post has reignited debate about Optimus’s true readiness, Tesla’s use of AI-generated promotional content, and the realistic timeline for deploying humanoid robots in practical, everyday environments.
