Pichai Meets PM at AI Summit

New Delhi, Feb 18: Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Wednesday during the India AI Impact Summit 2026, highlighting collaboration between the government and global technology leaders on the future of artificial intelligence.

The discussions centered on emerging technologies, innovation ecosystems, and leveraging digital advancements for inclusive growth and global good. Both leaders explored how AI can drive economic progress while ensuring responsible and ethical deployment aligned with societal priorities.

Pichai, who is scheduled to deliver the keynote address on February 20, shared on X, “Nice to be back in India for the AI Impact Summit — a very warm welcome as always.”

The India AI Impact Summit 2026, being held at Bharat Mandapam from February 16 to 20, has convened policymakers, AI experts, industry leaders, academicians, and civil society representatives from across the world. As the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South, it reflects India’s vision of “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya” — welfare and happiness for all — and promotes the broader principle of AI for Humanity.

The summit underscores India’s growing role in shaping global AI governance while fostering innovation for societal benefit.
